Okay, here's the new toy..........

First the 80# box arrived. You can see the old setup, along with the brooder where the chicks spend their first week so I can watch them.

Got it set up!

A peek at the top shelf, you can't see it actually holds 7 rows of eggs.

I've already got all three shelves filled, with a half tray of overflow in the bottom that need hand turning.................(but one whole shelf locks down this next week).

Wowza!!! What a great new toy for you. Do you have any Serama eggs cooking in there?

Wow I seriously can't believe it! I woke up to 12 chicks in my incubator that has only been 96degrees and 21 pips!

I didn't have any in that first batch, but I just set a bunch of them yesterday! Super tiny eggs from my littlest girls.

3 chicks finally hatched this morning, 1 Polish (with the biggest knot I've ever seen) and 2 of the Marans. 7 (at least, its hard to tell) have pipped. But I have one concern. The first chick to pip yesterday is still just peeking out the hole and I can see he's upside down. He pecks at the membrane but will he be able to get out? My last hatch I had one pip and the wrong end and I ended up having help it but this one is pipped in the right spot but I can tell his beak is upside down. What do you think? Do I need to help him. He pipped yesterday around 10am.

Also, the three that are hatched are ready to come out but I have three eggs with open pipped holes. The others are just the first crack. Is it safe to quickly take them out? I figured I'd wait to see if I had to intervene with the one before I took them out and do it at the same time.

I'll be there, I'm easy to find with the chocolate brown sweatshirt with lime green dog prints up the sleeve, 4-H logo on the back and white hair to boot. Not sure if DD will be there early Sat. morning, she may ride in with Grandparents. We plan on cooping the 5 she entered Friday night. I want to be there early Sat. to see what is in the sale area.
