My BAs lay a light brown egg. They look like Red Star crossed with EEs. I bet they will lay a lot of eggs too!

They will probably be fine but it helps if they can see each other at least a couple of days before you put them together. Chickens can recognize around 50 other chickens so it they see them they will know them when you move the new ones in. Yes, move them in at night.

The eggs are so cute! Ok, I will figure out how to let them see each other. I will have to move the quail... Thanks, Ron!! You should charge to be the info guy!!

That's them! The eggs are very similar, too... the 2 bigger girls have BA heads & Tudi has an EE head..kinda.

I do have the Octagon 40 and now think I should have gotten the 190 cabinet...

It really does say a lot for the Brinsea that works so well right out of the box and at default settings.

I just got the Genesis 1588 and wish that I had gotten a Brinsea! I was thinking about the Octagon 20 early this morning then thought why not the 40?! After looking at them, I decided that what I really want is the 190! Then I saw your post!

I am going to set Blue Egg layers for Jason and then I got a notice that the ones I Won on an auction in Sept. are coming along with some fancy Bantam eggs!

I am going need to use some hatching baskets to keep them separate and then band Jason's hatchlings right away.

hmm, my little Basque girl Eleanor has been spending more and more time in the nesting box lately... does anyone here have experience with whether the EOs tend to go broody?

Hi Laura,

I have not had any go broody yet but I do have a couple that like to sleep in the nest boxes at night. I call them my spa girls cuz they sleep in the nest box at night and spend their days sun and dust bathing.
