Those Turkens/Naked Necks are really cool. They are pretty chill but love to roost and be up high if they can. Day 1 they laid 3 eggs, next day 2 eggs, next day 1 egg and today 2 eggs. They didn't pause at all - I assumed relocation stress would cause them seize up their egg laying desire for a couple weeks. Not at all. One lays a pretty brown color- like barred rock brown egg and the other lays one that is about 2 shades darker- nice rich brown.
I think we are going to pause on chickens for a while. I need to finish hatching the little bantams I have in and then go from there. I did a head count and keepers- we have about 25 of each chicken and duck. We have just over 50 birds. That's quite a few lol. Not as many as a lot of you but that's more than we need for just ourselves with even a few leftover.
I've been reading the past few days but haven't felt like I had much to contribute so I've just been lurking. But I'm here! Weather is lovely here in Redding today and I guess for the next few weeks. Whoa mama! 80s even!
Anyone else warming up?
