capayvalley chick is breeding her hens separately to find the best combination of parents. One thing she has already learned is that one of her hens has 0 fertile eggs. A program like this could be used to find out which of the pullets is throwing the cockerels. I will be hatching in containers and banding the chicks by pullet that laid the eggs. It will interesting to see if there are some that lay mostly cockerel or pullet eggs.Anyone else hatching a lot of boys?
My last 2 hatches are insanely boy heavy. 1st I hatched 11 and 9 are cockerels. Then I hatched 19 and 13 are boys. I guess my odds are improving.Maybe this next hatch of 10 under my broody will have more pullets.![]()
