Pretty! What color do they lay? Are they a newer breed to the US?

They look great!

It is funny to me when someone says they look like mottled Javas. If mottled Javas looked that good in the US I would be very surprised!
Ha ha I was actually going to say that but I have never seen either one in person. Can I ask what people like about these? No doubt they are beautiful but are they good in the heat in the cold and are they a newer breed to the US?

Beautiful!!! For some reason, I am attracted to black and white animals! My dog and cat are both black and white. We have barred plymouth rocks, silver penciled plymouth rocks, a silver laced wyandotte, a Black Australorp, and both black and white Langshans. Hmmm...do you think that I need to add some Pita Pintas into the mix???

They are very big in person and are very friendly. Yes, they are good in the heat--They are Spanish.

They are a Dual purpose white egg layer too and not flighty like leghorns. Their meat is prized for its flavor too.

As far as I know, this is the only flock in the US at present, so they are very rare here.

They are a Spanish breed that are super friendly and hardy. And super rare (if you are into that! :) ) They lay A LOT of whitish/light brown eggs. They are related to Basques and are even friendlier than them. I'll PM you the price. Here's a pic of the girls and boys and also the chicks. Also, here's a link to my photobucket that has both the parents and the babies that we hatched a month ago (they're the black and white ones) -

Hi guys!!! It's been crazy here. My grampa passed away yesterday; 1 month to the day of his wife's funeral :( I've been a bit preoccupied... I've missed you all!!!
My dilemma: My boys are now talking about how they are boys!!! AAAHHH Anybody need any roos that were hatched in February? I'm trying to hang on to a Silkie roo, but I have 2 that haven't started crowing, but their brother has... I have 3 EE/Brahmas. Anybody?

I'm in Sacramento ... anyone know of a good chicken vet in the Sacramento/Dav is area by any chance?
I know Roseville is NOT Sacramento, but I do think there is one up here. An Avian vet that will do chickens too. Let me know if you want that number. I will look it up for you.

Wow! Then I probably can't afford those eggs......

The following information is a copy of a post by Chickmagnet9. She needs to find a good home for "Prince Harry," an EE roo hatched from one of my flock eggs last June. He looks amazingly like his daddy, my dominant Roo, Carl.

Pictures are on her original post, a thread which shouldn't be too hard to find in this forum. ;)

"This is Prince Harry.  He is my love bug and is very sweet but too noisy for where I live.  He is used to a very large shaded, enclosed area.  He   is used to papaya, grass, bugs, meal worms, watermelon on a regular basis.  He has a coop which he and his ladies sleep in, locked up at night for safety.  He is disease free, big and beautiful.  He just made a baby who has blue-green legs and feet!  I have baby pics from P.H. from hatch to these here.  Please enquire today to exchange more info if you are interested.  Thank you.  I am in  the Sacramento, CA  area."

It is nice to hear from you.

I do not know of nay Avian vets. I hope you find one.
Try Doctor P in Folsom at Banfield. My wife worked there and the doctor always said he would though they never had one come in.

Thank you but that seems like a long drive as well - but if I can't find anyone closer, I might have opt for the ones farther away, and if so I will bug you then if that is okay!
