Angel food cake is pretty much just egg white, sugar, flour and air, LOL. You could probably get away with just cutting back a little on the sugar in any recipe. Just don't change the amount of flour or you'll destroy the structure.speaking of baking (i am SO hungry after catching up on this thread from this morning), i have a baking question -- as i have several favorite recipes that all for only egg yolks, i've been saving up the spare whites in the freezer -- and recently decided it was time to try making my first-ever angel food cake. and it worked out great -- used up my 12 frozen egg whites, and turned out perfectly -- except i found the recipe to be way too sweet for me. anyone have an angel food recipe that's not insanely sweet? (this one had two cups of sugar, one confectioners and one granulated...)
i'm working on learning more egg-heavy recipes!
Try pound cake and custard or flan.............my go to's for using up eggs.
