One of my Bresse crowed this morning a real crow this time--Very cute crow. Now of course I need to move them to the farm.

PetRock, tell you husband that they do have a nice manly crow!

Sucks you can't have roosters :( Our Ameraucana roo hasn't crowed at all yet, our Blue OE roo (at least that's what I think he is) has a really cute crow and is the one who has pretty much gotten it down, and our splash OE roo needs to really practice more.

Pictures were taken from my phone, so they are not the greatest.

Dusty and her 2 babies:

My Icelandic hen and her 4 babies. The OE that looked blue last night now looks black. Ah well.

This one shows the chicks better, but my hen is blurry.

Awe!!! So cute! I'm actually starting to hope that one of our hens goes broody at some point in their lives just to see things like this! I reckon one will given that we have an oprington and brahma. I don't know if Marans or OE's or Wyandottes ever go broody.

I want a white Leghorn too. Just one.
I still have those Safeway chicks, they should be some kind of Leghorn cross. I have 3 that look like boys, and 3 that I think are girls. You can have one or two if you want. I have a lot of chicks right now, and at some point I need to pick and choose who will stay, and who will go.

I'm having a rough day (and last night). The one egg set to hatch yesterday finally pipped last night. In the very middle of the egg, under the air cell. It looked weird, so I took it out to double check and it had liquid around the pip. I dried the area the best I could, but I could tell it had liquid it it's mouth. I took a paper towel and dried it's mouth too, and left it alone for the night. This morning it was dead. Poor thing. I always feel so guilty when they don't make it. Then later the dogs freaked out because my DH when to the store (without them), and they broke through the fence. Now they are missing. We've called the shelters, and posted on craigslist, and haven't heard anything. They have to be some where. I can't imagine someone finding 2 big lab/shepherd mixes and thinking, "hey, I'm gonna keep these guys".

Quote: Ali,

I have white leghorns (I know, I know..............we should have known Deb would have them, LOL). I bought them from an exhibition line because I needed a few girls for a breeding project, but I saved back a couple of roos too. When I'm done breeding chicks for my project, I'll be putting one of the roos in and will breed some pure WL. I also am growing out some Exchequer leghorns

and will have them available in the future. I'm still not able to upload photos, but they are a gorgeous leghorn. Scroll down a bit.

Technically there is only one wolverine known in the state and he's up near Tahoe. Don't mess with Bob
