We take our trash to the dump (I'm old, it's still a dump). The last load had a few birds and plenty of bad eggs in the mix. DH said the guy commented, "boy your garbage really stinks!" He dumped and ran! LOL
I don't know how you get away with that. Around here, the "critters" find it and spread yucky, gross, trash everywhere. I bury mine and put rocks on top so my dog doesn't dig them up. She dug one up last week though (not heavy enough rocks I guess) and the vultures were kind enough to clean it up. All that was left was the egg that was inside her when she died.

I'm so Happy.... I sold 22 Roosters this week! Thank The Lord ....
Down sizing feels SO good!
Wow, that's a heck of a lot of roosters! Congrats on the downsizing!

I'm still a long way away from being under control but it feels good to unload 22 Roosters.

Congratulations! Every time I get rid of a bunch of roosters, I can tell the difference around here, even though there are 50+ left. I'm going to put on my big girl panties and count them some day.

If it were up to me, I'd do the weekly pickup, even though we'd have to drive the can to the end of the road every week. DH insists it is ridiculous to pay their prices when he can go to the dump so much cheaper.

I lost a hen a couple of days ago. I found her when I was doing my evening egg walk. I put her outside the pen and continued on my way. I forgot all about removing her when I was finished. The next morning, she had been removed, no feathers, nothing. I don't want to feed the predators and encourage them to stay around, but boy was that easy!

Hey Deb, just hatched out some more jubilee chicks. If you are interested they can be yours... ;)
Maybe I can get some Crele orp eggs down the road ... :) let me know... :)

This was mostly just a test to see if they fixed the problem of posting photos with IE. It is still a little fussy, I had to hit preview each time to add another photo. Anyway, these are my new LF chocolate orpingtons

I'm really hoping for a pair, since I only hatched two.

And this is one of my new lavender orpingtons

I also hatched a bunch of bantam black & chocolate orpingtons, but I didn't do a photo shoot with them.

Okay, enough messing around and back to chores.

Lavender orpingtons.... I'm can't read this. No more chickens! Chocolate?? No, no no!

Just got home from work and snapped a few pics. Blue(?) showgirl, partridge(?) showgirl, and a black silkie. Love them all. My kids are squealing with excitement!
