California - Northern

Nope, just pluck a quick pinch of feathers, her from above, him from below.  The feathers there aren't real tight and pluck very easily.

You get a much better result with their "parts" being able to touch properly.
Ok so just pluck around her vent? Hope he's a nice rooster. Lol they're big guys he may win this fight haha

I will guess that the OEs will lay first, then the Ameraucana.

Thanks Candace!!
I'll keep an eye on Ellie and Olive!

Tommysgirl...... Yes, buck and run Mary.

Cool!  Do yours have white/silver/grey in them?

I have 2 black/gold, 1 white/red leakage on chest, and 1 black/silver.

Just washed chicken butts and omg! Those English partridge orps butts are fluffy!!! I got them from greenfire as adults as original imports. One of them looks like her feathers around her vent have been clipped or plucked. Will I need to do this? To keep them clean or for fertility?

For both. They can get some really nasty butts.

I had a black with faint silver penciling but he was a cockerel so I gave him away. I bet he is gorgeous now. My two girls are nearly identical dark brown bodies with gold heads and gold detailing on their bodies but one has leg feathers and the other has a crest. I will try to post a pic but they are not very good at posing :)

Today I drove from Placerville to Winnemucca Nevada and back. 270 miles one way. to p/u my kids who where in Boise for the week.
On the way back I stopped by a fellow Crele penedesenca breeder and did a egg swap.
so I was able to get 6 crele eggs that where not shipped. Hope to get a few good hens or a good rooster

I am tired though it was quite the drive.
It was neat to see wild Horses though near Silver Springs south of Fernley.

My friend Eddie with the Penedesenca also raises Wallabies if anyone wants one

Though i am not sure if you can keep them here

That IS a long trip!! How is the color on the eggs you traded for? How did his birds compare to yours?

Now, that would be fun owning a Wallaby! Wonder if you can own them in California?
