I have never had to use pred. It is a dangerous drug for birds so it is a last resort. I have only had 1 really bad wry neck case and she was clearly improving w/o pres so I held and it went away.

Okay Thanks. Well I went and got the E Selenium and Low Dose Aspirin. I had a B Complex here and Nutridrench. I sort of made a soup out of all of it and got 1cc down her throat. I am not sure she is gong to make it.

Can a chicken break their neck and still walk around? She is making pitiful sounds every now and then, and the minute I am not moving her or forcing stuff down her throat she falls asleep. No more head under the wing, just head down.

I feel so bad because I did this by not being careful with the feeder. I went to get some tie downs I had forgotten and it fell over scaring her into the side of the run. It almost fell on her. I hate when I do stupid things like this!

1 or 1/2 low dosage aspirin vitiman e with selenium (sp) and a b ( b12 mebby?) If that doesn't do it the next step is prescription and you need to research. The e by itself won't be absorbed at all.

This works great with chickens hit or miss on quail.

How often do I give her this? BTW Thanks! I was hoping you were around. I thought at best I might get a response from you tonight. I have read about your issues with Wry Neck and although this isn't Wry Neck I was thinking it could still be brain swelling since she is a Polish.

This is the one. This picture is older and she is prettier now. Of course I only have one of these. They are from Deann at Just Struttin' and I hatched 3 Polish from her. I got a black an orange and this one. This is the color I was hoping for.

AND of course this is my daughters chicken. Spike.

good news from the sierras: my mom's house is apparently confirmed to NOT have burned in the Rim Fire -- she's going to try to drive up tomorrow to see it, if she can get permission to go inside the evacuation zone (the active fire has been our of their area for quite a while now). this article from the NY Times contains a photo (first one down on the left margin if you scroll down) of the Lillaskog Lodge, which is her parcel's next-door neighbor on one side -- the two properties on her *other* side were both completely destroyed:

I think I was doing 3x a day? Look dr browns wry neck. That is the most aggressive treatment for brain swelling and he is great.
