Very nice! And a good size too! Almost makes me wish they tasted like they looked.. chocolate!

And eggs from Catdance Silkies, wow! Color me green!

That would be yummy wouldn't it? It does look like chocolate

I have been lurking on the Silkie thread but won't post until I have some Silkie chicks to show off. Hope I get a good selection of colors

for Silkie eggs to hatch so I can see cute baby pictures .. I will probably be very full of popcorn by then. Perhaps I will share the popcorn with my chickens

Chickee that is a great first egg! Perfect color for hatching ( not so dark they are a big pita to get chicks from) and so even! If you want to breed your silkies make sure to get cat dance pen codes. You need to know the genetics of the color as well as what it looks like. Especially if you get light blues self blues splash or porcelain. You won't always be able to visually tell a difference between them but you'll need to know with you've got.

I've got 80 of her eggs in the smoker bator right now ( not mine) and I recognized 2 of the codes.....

The silkies I'm hatching right now are the best i've ever had. Its bittersweet. It looks like we had finally worked out the kinks in my breeding program when everything ended. At least i know I can work things out.

Thanks everyone! I am at 1500 feet. I took my automatic chicken water apart and put a bowl under the drip so it doesn't freeze and the ducks can get their entire bill wet. If I don't reply back its most likely I lost my place in this thread as its huge! After a flooded and mud covered set of ducks in my coop yesterday during thestorm I have finally fixed the drainage. That is for now.

Sounds like a great deal on chickens :D    Are you thinking about getting some for yourself?

When do you think the lady is going to set the d'Uccle eggs for you? That would be neat if they will be hatching around the same time as my Silkies :highfive:

She'll probably set them today :) we're making room for more (;
