My chick is peeping bloody murder... she's lonely I hope the other 4 eggs hatch....


if not.... does anyone have any brand new chicks or any due really soon? She'll need a friend.

I have chicks hatching today, Iowa Blues and Cream Legbars.

Congrats on the chick!!! Do you have a stuffed animal for her to cuddle up to while she is waiting for others to hatch? I pick up small stuffed animals at the dollar store and throw them away after a couple of weeks in the brooder. The chicks love them!

Edited to add that some people use a feather duster in the brooder instead of a stuffed animal.

We used to have a sheepskin duster we called mother we put in for chicks to hide under. They love to jump on the top and fall asleep.

I have a squatter!!!! Big Bertha the Black English Orp. No one else was so inclined. BB is by far the biggest chicken I have. But upon closer inspection, I did note that even the Orps lost some weight with the move. Poor babies. I didn't lose any though I probably gained with all the fast food I consumed over the last three weeks......Ugh I feel like a slug.

They should settle down and get back normal now. It is good to be finished moving I bet.

My grandmother insisted I play meditation music for the chick 24/7 so I'm doing that lol. She actually likes it...

7 GORGEOUS and healthy Breda babies are literally bouncing in my incubator right now.

I am so pleased. 7 out of 12 eggs, with 10 going into lockdown, is great. I'm so extremely happy.
