I processed two Pita Pintas. They are 16 weeks old and live weight was 4.5 pounds. Dressed, they were a bit over 3 pounds. Nice Fryer or broiler size. For a Black feathered chicken they plucked very nicely:
Nice! Were they crowing by 16? Also looking forward to your basque report .

The Basque boy is crowing and one of the Pita Pintas is crowing too. I did not process the two biggest Cockerels--those will go into my breeding program next spring.

I am very impressed with the Pita Pintas so far.

Today was the first chance I've had in a week or so to actually spend a few minutes in the coops with daylight. It looks like they have chosen the "deep feather" method. One of the bantams strolled out of the coop and had to take inventory, I didn't recognize her as the other SLWB she is missing so many feathers.

The coop at my new property is nearly done; just need the auto door installed. It arrived Saturday. I've scheduled John the Contractor to do that on Tuesday morning. (I have to go buy a 6v lantern battery for it tomorrow - I opted for the Ador auto door this time.)

I also need to have the anti-bird netting put over and the hardware cloth "apron" around the bottom of the run. Must buy another 100 foot roll of the latter as there is 200 feet of 6' no-climb run fence.

Money got tight earlier than expected because my 2001 Toyota RAV4 crapped out last Wednesday and I bought a 1999 Nissan Quest on Friday out of the "new property coop build" money.

6 Roosters housed at HHandbasket's place and at least that many more which have grown up, since, at MY house will go first.

Eventually, only the most senior hens, my dominant rooster Carl, and Sparkle the House Silkie will reside at my residential property.

QUITE a lifestyle change!  Harold is experiencing the same, having gotten used to just jumping on the other young girls whether they squatted or not, but how is being chased a bit by the Amelias. poor guy, but hopefully all three will settle down soon.

Dance rooster DANCE!

LOL! One of my Barred Rock girls looks like a naked neck right now. She also has a naked bumm! I need to get a pic of her before her feathers grow back.

My group of 9 Pita Pintas are 6 weeks old and the 2 confirmed boys are much bigger than the girls. I am hoping that there really are only 2 boys and 7 girls. That would be a good start on a breeding program!
