The Canada goose that my yearling geese adopted when it stumbled onto our property parentless and still covered in down. My goose, Waffles, being silly. Dumpling. Sweetest hen we have. Ron- this was from the set you gave us. I adore this girl. She will be bred with my CL boys for sweet natured, pretty egged Eggers. lol
So sorry about your losses. That Canadian goose is very pretty and love all the other photos!

Love your pictures!

Yep, I'm hatching

Couldn't resist eggs from Catdance Silkies. 5 chicks so far. 2 procelain, 2 white and a blue. 8 more to go.

Woohoo! Love the silkies! But something keeps eating them here. :( Poor sweet things. BEST moms EVER. One of mine died protecting her babies. Once we trap and kill this thing- I plan on getting a couple Silkies again. I prefer them for broodies over the big fat broodie hens I have lol!

I'm so excited. I feel like a big girl farmer now. haha! We've been culling ducks and chickens we don't want to breed. I did figure out that my Silkie hens hatched CL X Silkie mixes. I think roos though. Boo. Now the Silkies are dead. I took all the Silkie eggs I have been hoarding and put them in the incubator. I'm not sure what a CL roo X a Silkie will produce really but I miss my sweet little girls already and hope to get a girl or two to carry on their sweetness. They will be like tiny little soft Eggers right? LOL

That is SO sad! A game camera would help identify the killer. Do you know someone who has one that you can borrow?

These are my first Silkies and I am so excited. Everyone who has them seems to really like them so I decided to ad some to my bantam pen. I like the idea that they can hatch eggs for me too

I'm so excited for you! They are the bestest broodies ever! And so soft to pet.

What are you looking for?

haha Just looking not to be alone. rofl!

I am test hatching about 2 dozen eggs right now. I have about a dozen sizzle/silkie eggs covered by my CL roo (because I miss my girls we lost this week). And then I tossed in some random eggs from my favorite hens to see if my CL boys are doing their jobs. I don't even want to keep any- I just want to see how hatchable the eggs are with them right now.

Love your pics, Amy! So glad that you popped in to share with us! I totally know what you are going through with homeschooling. We homeschooled all of our kids and the oldest 5 have a 9 year age span so had all 5 in school at the same time. It is very different now with only 1 child to homeschool.

I'm test hatching a dozen Bresse and mixed farm eggs in my new to me cabinet hatcher/incubator. They are due to hatch this Saturday!

It was lovely though. We've lost 3 hens so far. And Tuesday I got ticked and told the boys to grab their pellet guns and sit on top of the chicken coop. I wanted to see if they could spot the sucker. No school that day. I love that we have that freedom though!
