California - Northern

I know the feeling Audio. My DH is tolerant of the birds until the boys start crowing. I can't imagine him riding in the van for hours with them, especially the best quality cock we have. That boy never shuts up! At least his crow isn't as annoying as the Dutch we had.
LOL!!! Mine has always been great about putting up with the many animals we have had over the years. We had a Roo at our old place in lower Paradise (along with goats, sheep, horses, geese, ducks, rabbits, parakeets, doves, pigeons, etc) , but were zoned rural residential there so they were all OK. He never had a problem with the roosters there. In fact, when we bought the house on a little over an acre, there was an orchard behind. About 5 years later they sold that property and started to develop it. Some city guy bought the house that went in right behind us. He tried to tell me I should get rid of my rooster because it bothered him. My husband and I explained that facts of life to him and that the rooster had been there long before he was and there would be one there long after he was gone...... and that perhaps he should have thought about that before he bought the house. He never bothered us again and moved out about a year later.

Even after we moved to where we are now, I have had cats, dogs, Cockatiels, lovebirds and finches. We are down to dogs and finches now in addition to the chickens. I raise finches and have 4 large aviaries and a number of indoor breeding cages. I raise Gouldian finches and am trying to raise Strawberry Finches. They are a little tougher than the Gouldians. Hubby has built all the flights, puts up the polycarbonate panels in the fall and takes them back down in the spring. He built the chicken coop and pen, put up a roof when we realized the coop was going to become a swamp of we didn't cover it. I would say he definitely done his part to keep me happy.....

I am in Paradise....just northeast of Chico in the foothills.

Oh, I guess that wouldn't work for a carpool, since I'm north of Sacramento and drive up I-5. Pam, on this group, lives in Paradise. Maybe she goes to that show.
You could meet her in Orland. Hwy 32 goes there from Chico. That would save an hour off of the trip for @Audio51

I'm hoping show is in Anderson. That was the plan last year but it was moved to Red Bluff instead. I guess rental fees caused the move. Nor Cal Poultry Assoc. Has their new web site up. Looks like they were trying to get a hold of someone up here about old cages. Ours are terrible, hoping to get new bantam cages this year.

She can let me know, if that's what she would like to do.

I don't know if it was just my poor eyesight or not, but the lighting at that show seemed very dim. I was having a hard time seeing the birds well. Wherever they end up, I hope it has better lighting.

The Anderson Fair Grounds is very nice.

The "In-laws" had a place in Magalia. DH graduated from PHS in the late 70's. We moved to Chico in 1990. Moved up here in 95 when he went to work for OR State Ag dept.
We moved to Paradise from San Jose in 1986. Been here ever since. I always said if I were to move out of CA it would be to Oregon.

I PM'd Pam about the EE but have not heard back from her. I even posted on her FB page and haven't had a reply. The funny thing is, I am familiar with Pam form her Fir Street Gallery. I was doing Stained Glass several years ago and was in her shop quite a bit buying supplies. She must be pretty busy with the approaching holidays.

That might work. I have met people in Red Bluff too to sell finches.
