Ok I will pick some up. Hearing the chicken screaming scared the heck out of me! If it hadn't brought her to the back door I wonder if I would have heard anything at all? Is there a certain type of latch I should get since they can open things with their hands?

The ones Ron posted are good. I've also had good luck with bolts similar to this. I got them at home depot.

Great that's where I'm headed also, is hardware cloth half way up the run enough to deter the raccoon or should it go the whole way up? The run is over 6 feet tall. For sure it's going on top.

Ok I'm putting a latch on every possible place lol. It will be a total lock down tonight, I will be looking forward to catching that raccoon.

has anyone had any problems with saddles? I've had them on for a couple of weeks and a couple of them may even look worse. Not sure if the saddles are rubbing the backs too. I searched it and haven't seen anything on it. Some are doing well, but others I'm not sure about. My rooster has a long one one to get his tail to grow back. That's working really well!!
