he'd been butchered right there and thrown on the ladies door

Miss Molly and Deann ( Just Struttin ) I believe still does
No, sorry. I no longer have Swedish Flower Hens. I downsized by reducing the # of breeds I raise, but you still are not allowed to ask how many chickens I have

I am officially worried about Miss Molly. She has not been on BYC since September. Has anyone talked to her?

The last I heard about Molly was from Debs_Flock. They had been in, I think, email contact.

I hope she is ok!

She liked a photo on my penedesenca Facebook page last week and is on craigslist. I'll message her

She is probably staying off of here because we are big enablers and she is trying to scale back her flock.

Let us know what you find out!

had the 2014 chicken talk with My sweet husband: It went like this: We have already decided that broodies can brood to their hearts content

ME "I have a chicken decision to make and I hope you can help me."
TOM "O,,,Kay...?"
Me"Well if I wait for a broody it might not work out timing wise for me to get the new breeds I want."
TOM "You want NEW BREEDS?? I look out there (gestures to back yard foragers) and it is awesome but how on Earth can you possibly want NEW breeds and what New breeds do you want?"
ME Javas and New Hampshires
TOM. and what is so great about these?
ME, Well, they are historical and rare and beautiful and...
TOM Never mind ...why don't you just get one of each?
ME: Well everyone needs a friend and no breeder that I have found has both
TOM OK so 2 of each (shakes his head) OK get two of each
ME: Quarantine is a pain
TOM: We will work it out, get what you want.

So my question for you is this...if I am able to get sexed 5 week olds that have been brooded indoors can I avoid Quarantine?

It would be dicey because of the extra bio security that the place you get them from would need. A quick way is to put one of your chickens in with the new ones and leave them for 10 days. That is not too much time is it?

@juststruttin I think, asked if anyone had a positive float test report from their flock for worms. Over a year ago I sold a couple of FBCMarans to a co worker. They were having some issues that seemed like Worms or Cocci. He treated for Cocci and later sent in a Manure sample to UCD. The test came back positive for Round Worms, so they are apparently in the soil in Woodland.

He is going to treat with Valbazen.

The Hens responded to the corid and are laying eggs again.

There are quite a few on the list so it will be a while.

I will give you plenty of time.

How do I get on the list? Does UofA still raise them? I would assume they were bred to possibly lay more than the existing blue egg layers? What is their temperament like?

You've tempted me with yet another breed created by poultry scientists. B^)
