Have you created any olive eggers with the UofA's? If they lay better than the CL, that would be good. But wouldn't be visually sexable
I should be hatching some eggs form Crele Pene X UofA Cockerel in a week or so. They will be Olive Egg laying chickens.

The W/BW Ameraucana pullets I hatched over the summer are starting to lay! I got 4 eggs today!!! Beautiful blue color too! On top of that I got my first d'Anver egg yesterday! Now that it is past the Solstice, the chicken are getting into the hatching mode!

That is great news!

I'll help Ron out and not be the only enabler. Here are eggs from my two newest layers, one olive egger and one welsummer:

They beg to be hatched! But I'm not doing it..............yet. (still growing out juvies) Besides, the welsummer isn't in my breeding flock yet, so hatching them wouldn't do me any good.

I think Ron and Deb have us all beat in being hatch-a-holics.

Those are beautiful Eggs!

I am so lucky to get to hatch for Kim @capayvalleychick and the egg farmer in Winters.

And it is so nice of them to let me stash Roosters too!

Nice eggs! I have 60 eggs saved up for what I thought would be a small "test hatch". Guess I will be setting more than I planned  Trisha

Anyone else hoping for some rain? There is a wild fire burning in the Ishi wilderness in eastern tehama county....in January! DH got called into work to help fight it. I also found a report that some of our local water wells are already in "alert" status.

Our place is practically a desert here. Almost NO grass.

It is terrible!

Towns covered by lakes are re appearing after decades under water too.

Ever hear of Mormon Island?

It has been under Folsom lake since the drought of 76.
