Next question. Do I really take out both plugs?? The instructions said take them out at hatch if needed.

I did get two more thermometers. I'm going to put them in and give it another while.

ventilation is the third cause of chick death at hatch. Having the plugs in now will not make much of a difference but the plugs should be removed at day 10 or so. As long as you can remember to remove them then, you can leave them in.

Most of us do not use the plugs ever.

You should be able to ship from California to all states.

I do not have a list of the ones that cannot ship to us.

At the bottom of the page there are links to the rules for each State. USPS does not enforce the rules though. California requires a Health certificate or NPIP but it is pretty much ignored.

I don't think you can legally ship chicks if you are not npip period. Hawaii and Virginia check and you have to send your copies of their paperwork with the chicks.

Ymmv with other states.
