What breeds do you want photos of? any breed you were trying to buy?
AW - you are sweet! I wasn't trying to buy anything. Just wanted to learn. REALLY WANTED TO LEARN. I've been told that my GLW cockerel is lovely and great type but has a larg-ish comb. I wanted to see others like him. Dark Brahma's, I wanted to see those and learn...
See we have these birds and I don't know what is right/wrong and the books or online information isn't the same as being there. I'm just going to have to attend some smaller shows.

Thank you so much for asking. If you wanted to take a general picture of the whole scope of things I'd love to see that. I've never been to a chicken show. I was sooooo excited about going. And seriously, if I think I can get away for 2 hours - I am so there!

My Grandpa has been long infirm and finally passed on. His poor body was a trap for him these last few years. While I am sad - it is also a blessing that he no longer suffers. I have 16 cousins (not counting spouses). Among us are 55 great grandchildren and several great-greats. Gettting together should be a ball!
Blessing for your family

because I'm scheming how to get away from all the fuss long enough to attend the show in Stockton. I had big plans for this weekend! Big chicken plans! Oh well. Guess it probably won't happen.

You all take picture please!

I'm sorry for your loss. I understand all too well about the relief you feel when they are no longer suffering. I had the same happen with my grandfather. It was still hard to lose him, but knowing he wasn't in pain any more was a comfort. Plus, my grandmother was caring for him and we were worried about her health.

Really really sorry to hear about your grandpa. I am sure he was surrounded by loved ones in his last days, which is all we can all hope for.

I promise to take lots of photos for you. Any breeds you want to see in particular? I am always impressed by the size of the Bramas and the shear awkwardness of the Modern Game Bantams, oh and don't get me started on the Peking Ducks. Love them!. I will get lots of photos!

What kind of silkie mix is very broody? I'm guessing they never come up for a breath?

I am making an assummption. A lot of the true bantam breeds are very broody. I am hoping that blending the two will produce a broody oriented mix.

Seeing someone suffer is just heartbreaking! We are glad to know he is at peace. My poor Grandma though, they've been married for 73 years...
Even during these last years of suffering they were able to keep him at home with a home nurse. Grandma got up every morning and hand fed him his first piece of fruit. We are concerned that without the routine, she will fade. These last years have been hard on her too, so, so frail!

May I just mention that you are all the nicest group of people! Recently when we had that chicken loss - being able to vent was VERY helpful.
And not one of you said I was crazy or bad for being sad to miss the chicken show

Thank you for that. You are all so very kind..... and just a teeny bit naughty feeding my dependency
