Walt,
Thank you so much for that! I've been looking at pictures on the CSU thread linked to me. Since seeing those pictures, I decided to not to worry about the comb size. He is only 6 months. Looks like a full grown GLW is supposed to have a rather large comb! My hens are too long bodied. I think I need new hens. But I'm keeping this boy. Thanks again for your input.
I was looking at some pictures of Duane Urch's GLWs and they are beautiful. You might want to get some eggs or chicks from him for your beautiful cockerel

I don't give a fig about being politically correct.  BUT, where I live is generally not poultry people.  You say cock in a crowd around here and you'll get a lot of strange looks.
So let's say now trying to be politically correct how would one market there large white unknown breed rooster on craigslist lol

Same here!! most people I know have no chickens at all, so I don't say that. Cock bird or male is what I'll use. It's like when we bred our Australian Shepherd. I co-bred with 2 top judges in the us and they called the girls B***es when discussing them. It's the proper name for a female dog, but when they left my then 10 year old son said "mom those ladies sure do cuss a lot". My husband will be going with me to the show. He WANTED to.

I will have to explain the whole "we don't call them roosters" thing. If I don't, he won't know what to think when we get there.

I'm getting my hair done today, so I won't know what color to describe myself till I get home

It's official: I'm now a dark brunette. Gone with the sandy blonde.

I answer to chiquita, demo, and nofishies in public. I now ONLY use those names online so I don't end up with any more handles to answer to!
I will answer to …Chrissy, haha. I was so inventive when I came up with my handle! I think i just didn't want to have to remember some other user name. Kinda wish it was different now

I have a question for those with the penedesenca OE cross: Does it really matter if the penedesenca is a …cock bird (political correctness here) or hen? I figured it does not, but I am wrong on occasion

. I'm trying to figure a pen for penedesencas, CL and U of A Blue's. I am leaning toward a CL male then I can also breed straight CL too. I figure just a couple of these breeds. Then one pen for extra roos, a new pen for bresse and I SHOULD be done adding chickens and pens.

It should not matter. The Amelias that I have were CL Cock Bird over Crele Penedesenca Hens.

Post an add with that word on craigslist and watch out, LOL. I am dreading a phone call in the near future from the elementary school office about " bad language" from my kids. That four letter "word" would be totally misunderstood when said by a child in a school setting. :hide
