The bantam ducks were pretty cute!
I still like mille fleur d'uccles, and splash anything. And sizzles are so silly they are adorable.

My daughter wants some mille fleur d'uccles. She has been wanting some porcelain ones for the past year but decided at the show on Sat that she really prefers the mille fleurs. We may end up satisfying her multi-color feather love with a couple of Dyann's calico bantam cochins. Monet just wants something small and speckled!

No, Bresse do not get lazy like Cronish Crosses do. They are very active foragers and can fly.

I agree with the flying! We have our Bresse at the farm in a fenced in area with 3 coop hoops but some of the girls are determined to fly out each day to lay their eggs in the bushes. We have many pullets who are just beginning to lay. We processed most of the cockerels. We are at the point of narrowing down our flock to make it more manageable. We have too many white birds!

Today my White Plymouth Rock got her face caught in the feeder. Tonight my neighbor and I sprayed some Blu-Kote on her.

Poor girl! I treat open wounds on my birds with Vetericyn HydroGen Spray. I have been very pleased with how it helps speed up the healing.

I apologize in advance for saying roo, but not much rhymes with Cockerel.

My favorite birds of all times is my 5 year Old D'uccle named China. She was named China because she is a porcelain and looks like fine china. She flies into my hands when I click my fingers. Ill try to get a video of her one day. She will melt your heart.

This little lady walks and looks like an exotic species of mermaid, not a chicken! I love this picture!

How do you like your white rocks?

I love an assortment of chicken breeds and egg colors so when I happened to see her at a feed store I brought her home as a young pullet. I have never had good luck with buying older chicks and she is no exception to this rule. A little on the wild side and the all white feathers tend to look dirty more than not. I think an all white chicken is beautiful but she is rather dull. Maybe just the hatchery stock and not the breed.
Is there such a thing as a white chicken that cleans itself? We have Great Pyrenees dogs and they can get filthy dirty and somehow become all clean again in no time on their own.

I'm starting to feel the incubator craze coming on. I sold all the chicks. Now the only babies around here are 8 weeks old.

Time to change that! Not totally sold on the idea yet as we still have out of state company.

Anybody besides me start thinking about what eggs to gather and hatch in the same way one would plan a very important party?

Yes, that is very obviously a pullet and a cockerel.
