Hmmm. I didn't check her crop but she was scarfing the food I gave her. I will check it in the morning. The only smell I noticed was a sweetish smell. Almost like infection not the awful smell everyone mentions. I will still try the Monistat though because everything was wet and drippy looking. She was trying to clean up and an oh so helpful flock mate decided to peck at the red lump. So she will be inside for a few days. To be honest I didn't sniff her butt. Just couldn't bring myself to go there. My gag reflex has been sensitive lately!
HI! I have been talking to you and commenting on everyones posts. Just like I said ........verbally. So not helpful I know! My daughter asks me, "mommy what are you laughing at?" I just tell her it is a funny comment on my chicken page. Then she wanders away. At 7 she has learned that chicken people are "special" and laugh at things not always funny to everyone else.
You aren't a numb nuts you are a chicken nut. There IS a difference. I am going to take Ron's advice and see what happens. Funny that I have read all about vent gleet but it didn't occur to me because of the big red spot. I am a numb nut too!
Yes, it has a sweet smell and has that grey white goo. It looks just like Vent Gleet to me. Mites can make them leave blood on the eggs too so look into that also. This weird winter with no rain has brought on mite and lice problems. Mosquitos are out too!
I often get the look at home. Tonight has been especially funny too!

Lol. Sorry on my phone and my smilies are limited. That is a knee slapper for sure because I can see the picture clearly!
