so why is it called a project? is it because there are still a lot of traits from whatever breed they were crossed with?

It's a project until it is close to sop and breeds true. I think the color still not gtg.
On a sadder note mario says the Puppy Bowl is filmed in october. Wth?

Oh ok, makes sense.
Nat geo wild has an unbearable Fish bowl on right now.

Wait a couple of days for lockdown and put them all in. Just keep the humidity up and try not to remove chicks when there are pips.

Some will stick. Turning is not necessary for the first week and the last week. The middle week is where it makes a difference.

Some will stick even with turning--If the chick does not develop correctly and absorb the yolk, The liquid becomes an amber goo.

I've wondered about this. The little chick embryos move around a lot inside of the egg. You would think they move around enough not to get "stuck".

Dremmel works great for spurs. Don't use a saw attachment use the cutting wheels. Use almost anything for toe nails I use a cutting type of pliers so I can open them up to accommodate birds with large nails. If you cut to much they will bleed.

I really like the sand paper for doing toenails, if I quick them the heat seems to partially cauterize my goof.
I sanded the spur tips on a dutch bantam, he was a little feisty, sanding gave the spurs a larger area of contact on me, dime sized bruises, instead of just a whack from his leg. His spurs curled up and grew parallel to the leg. No tips involved until I armed him with them.
The spurs on my barred rock grow so that clip together with every step once they reach a certain length. He sheds them on his own, the newly exposed spur is really sharp and I separate him until the bleeding stops. I think the newly exposed spur would really bleed if I tried sanding the new point down.
