There used to be someone on here that had Jersey Giants. They have not posted in a while though.Anyone have a jersey black roo
It depends on the Roosters. Some will fight but others get a long fine with others. It is often a Breed characteristic so you need to check that. Some questions regarding designing breeder/broody pens. Looking at building a series of pens 8' x 4' to house 1 ro and 1 to 3 hens for breeding. Or for raising chicks. Or for 1 or two broody hens.
How important is it that the roosters can not see each other? I have never had a problem with two roosters in side by side pens other than the normal face offs.
I was thinking of placing plywood between the pens but would rather just use wire as it lets more light in. Your suggestions are appreciated.
Quote: Would plywood maybe 16" high between pens work? Or higher?
That should work nicely!Would plywood maybe 16" high between pens work? Or higher?
I have a friend who is raising Jersey Giants. She has been looking for some new pullets for her big boy and has been in touch with a breeder somewhere here in N CA. I'll message her through FB and ask for the info. We had one of her boys on the farm with my Langshans but I'm pretty sure that we processed him. He looked almost identical to my black Langshans except for his clean legs and the yellow bottoms of his feet. We've got some big boys out there on the farm! There used to be someone on here that had Jersey Giants. They have not posted in a while though.
