So I called the Turlock office branch for doing poop tests. Still affiliated with uc davis. They said I need 10 grams of poop to do test. I only have 6 or 7 then gave the Corid. Since they have been on Corid, any more poop isn't going to give good results. I believe he said the test is now $14. and some odd change.
But on a positive note: the girls are doing GREAT with the Corid! One better than the other, but both much more active. They even snuck out of the coop when I was fixing the light in there. The worst one had all of her poops that was REALLY watery. No solid ones at all. Now its more solid.

Its called a "chick bator" (aka piece of crap that my mom bought cheap) if u look on murry mcmurrays website its on there thats where she bought it. and no i dont theres just the thermometor that came with it.
http://m.www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/mini_dome_incubator.html thats the incubator we have.
That would be a very hands on incubator. I read the institutions for adjusting the temperature and you move the light bulb up and down.

Try incubating again using local EE eggs since they are very easy to hatch. Check the thermometer using a body temperature thermometer and see how close the one they gave you is.

My guess is that is it off by 2 or 3 degrees an the temperature is too low.

Take it easy!!  I had the opposite problem, all my babies were way late.  Hopefully you little one will stay in there until it's time.

So- an Update of my chicken code violation:

I went to the Citrus Heights City Council meeting last night. I was able to to stand up and give my little chicken presentation to the City Council.  I made copies of my letter with my picture, and they were handed out to the council members, and put in the record.  They told me that this was an issue that has come up before, and they weren't opposed to looking at changing the code.  The put it on their calendar of items.  After it was over the Head of code enforcement (who happened to be at the meeting) introduced himself, and we were able to have quite a long conversation about it.  He received my email, and told me that technically at this point, (from his perspective) he has to follow the code until the city council tells him otherwise.  He said he understands my position, and suggested that I find a temporary place for them until the re-inspection (that they are required to do) is done, and this kind of blows over.  I told him that I would really like to avoid even temporarily re-homing them, and he said (kind of cryptically) to talk to Officer Leah Buck (the officer who originally wrote the violation), and see what we can work out.  I really hope the City Council makes it a priority.  :fl

On a happier note,
I got my eggs from Papa Brooder this morning, and they are in the 'bator.  So I have 6 (of my own eggs), on day 12, and 4 Lavender Orp, 4 Lemon Cuckoo Orp, and 28 Silkie/Sizzle/Frizzle eggs that just went it.  :weee

Excellent!

Not sure if my valley girl voice came through or not, but I have seen people make that mistake before. There are no holes barred in that forum. It sure would be easier if the hatcheries stopped calling EEs Ameracaunas. IMHO EE are great birds and have a place in the backyard flock; and they deserve their own name.
I agree! My EEs are great! Wish I had more
