The chicks from cackle will only be day olds when i get them on the 26th of this month and theres only a 10 day difference from then till the 6th of march which is when the eggs should hatch so i dont think that would count in the full 21 days of the eggs. The cackle chicks would only be 10-12 days old when the eggs hatch

OK.....that makes more sense. You are getting chicks from cackle but they have not hatched yet. I thought you had gotten some other chicks after the ones you were trying to hatch didn't work out.

No the chicks from cackle will hatch there on the 24th (or should) and will be sent that same day is what cackle told my mom and so we should get them the 25-26

Im curious can chickens learb other sounds? like the laughinb cackle of a stellers jay or the honking of a goose? I have chickens who make both of the sounds and idk if its just them or if its something they learned

Is there anything I should know/do for the babies aside putting vitamin mix and rocks in their water?

And THANK YOU SO MUCH for the eggs!

They stay suspetable to cold for a LOOT longer then other breeds. I keep them in with the babies until they get mean and start pecking. They have a napoliean phase.

Is there anyone who has serama chicks they would sell? thats one bird i cant get from a hatchery but i really want atleast a male and a female Dx i prefer chicks instead of eggs since i dont have great luck hatching lol

I will have seremas at some point expecting to put eggs in the I cubator soon to test the new pair but they have to have some age to them to sex.

help! Once again I appear to have done something wrong.

I washed my hovabator with bleach after the last hatch. Evidently the styrafoam absorbed some? I lifted the lid to add an egg (set eggs last night and found one today that had to go in!) and the chlorine smell rushed to greet me.

Am I killing all the embryos with cholorine gas as the bleach is evaporating out of the incubator? What to do?

Did you do this:

Quote: It is a very weak solution of bleach. 1 part bleach to 9 parts water so there should not be too much left in the incubator. The eggs do not use air now so they should be ok as long as the chlorine goes down in a week.
