California - Northern

I've been enjoying this beautiful day before the rains come. Cleaning chicken houses and taking pictures of my chickens. Everything is getting so pretty and green. Can't wait for the oaks to get their leaves. The new ones are always so bright green!

Pictures of my Silkies from Catdance. Silly birds won't jump up/down the step into/out of the chicken house so I had to get a load of dirt and put three shorter steps in so they will go in and out.

What they lack in brains they make up with fluffy cuteness

Funny Porcelain pullet decided she would try for a piece of grass while I was trying to get her to pose for a picture!
It definitely looks like Spring

I also see some BYC Calendar pictures!

You have a very nice flock too.

The rain does turn the moss on the rocks green and makes them look so pretty. We have the moss rocks all around our house. The house overlooks a creek with more beautiful, big rocks. It gets pretty wild when it rains! Fun to watch.

Hi we are in San Jose and we are getting chicks this Saturday from 4h. We have gotten them before from them and would highly recommend getting them from there! 1: cheap $5 per chick 2: they sex them 3) have a pretty big variety of breeds 4) chicks are healthy

So my chicken yard may be a fail- I have several coops with runs inside of a nice yard. Sounds brilliant! However when one coop is released to enjoy the yard the Roos line the other coops runs and crow like mad.

Serama are NOT quiet that's for sure !

Another configuration plot in the makings I guess.

oh, and re: our discussion of maps and what different parts of the state are called, from last week, has anyone read yet about this proposal?

http://www.businessinsider.com/tim-drapers-six-californias-2014-2

the guy proposes to split CA into six states, one of which ("Silicon Valley") instantly be the wealthiest state in the country, and other of which ("Central California") would be the poorest. very strange, but apparently they are trying to get enough signatures to get it onto the November ballot...

I did hear about that. We already had a few counties up here trying to "Secede" from California. I think it's a great ideas for those in the wealthy areas...not so much for the rest of us, especially in the more rural areas

Welcome! What hatchery are they ordering from? Make sure to give them lots of extra vitamins when you pick them up,it will help them perk up from the shipping.

Roosters who can't run away from each other like to talk about how hot they are. Over and over and over.....

I will take your word for it.  That is one thing I don't feel the need to personally test!  :sick

You are no fun! You are the one person who might be able to save us all from skunks!

The little ones can really belt it out.
