Hello all!
Hello, Celeste! Are you new to the group? If so.....

I hear you about the memory loss. My Grandma Sweetie did the same thing. She was not able to process short term memory into long term memory so she forgot that we were visiting her at the hospital when we went to lunch.

You do not have to see them do the death shake. Hang them up or put them into a cone. Dispatch with the method of choice and go away for 10 minutes. I set up a garbage bucket with a brick in the bottom and line with a plastic bag.
I love that she was "Grandma Sweetie". Thanks for all of this post.

Hello all!
Hey there!

So this chick that has had its beak out for 12 hours. What do I do? There are 13 other ones pipped. I don't really want to open the bator and harm them just to save the one. Especially since interfering with the hatch is such an iffy proposition. Tonight at midnight starts day 21. Should I wait? The original ones that had pipped this morning have done nothing. Do they ever just give up or are they in a resting stage?
I would just let it ride. It is hard hard hard but I am certain that part of why my hatch was so dismal last spring was because I kept helping. Then I got Curly who was crippled and stunted and very sweet but he only lived about 6 mos. I helped 2 others at least minimally and had like 8 die in the shell. they had been alive 3 days earlier.

My Mom is 81 and in good general health but she is slipping a lot too. She will tell me the same story 2 or 3 times during the same visit, forgets where she put somethng she just bought so will go buy it again, throws things in the trash without realizing it. It's so hard to see that happen to them.

Thanks. I am with you.

My grandma is 84. We are noticing a lot of changes. When she is tired or doesn't feel good she'll forget the most basic things. It is very hard to watch.

I did not have the processing support thread in my Signature!

It is there now:

And Here
Ron I keep seeing under your name "Daily Digest Guru".
But every time I glance over, I keep reading it "Reader's Digest Guru".
The first time I saw it I thought "so that's where he gets all his amazing info and recipes"

I had to keep quiet at TSC. The worker was telling a customer that she needed to either give the chicks medicated feed for the first three weeks or medicated feed.

Oh My!

Hi! It's funny you guys are talking about feed store misinformation. Literally just last night I had to keep quiet listening to an employee telling customers that their EEs were pure bred and that they come from show quality parents....yeah, sure. And he told them that the EEs (pullets) will make great meat birds and egg color can change. What?! They had no idea they laid blue/green eggs...or that they could eat the eggs. It's so hard not to say "Really?" I was just peeking at what they had, but its amazing what supposed "chicken experts" are telling people.
