So it is a little bigger than mine. It's 6 1/2 by 2 1/2 feet. The ramp is in exactly the same position as mine (right up against the end panel) so I figured it was the same size. We get those same kind of summers here in Butte County....above 100 many days. Sometimes up to 105. That the one thing I miss about living in San Jose........ we thought it was really hit when it got uo into the 90s there.
That works to about the same. Yes us too I hate the sweltering summers. We have hit 120 Bleh. I lost 4 chickens that week. Yeah I can live with the 90's easily. We will see how t goes. Hopefully we can move next year, but the housing market is the issue. But we need to go where there is work. Same so so for most people.

Saw this thread and had to post. I am a former NorCal girl (Gilroy), if yall know where that is aka., garlic capital of the world. I now reside in Virginia. You all were talkin bout North and South, and I am in the middle of who is Northerner and whose a Southerner. I remember the debate in Cali of whose north/south........Missin my friends there in the sunny state.

I had a friend that used to live in Gilroy and she always went to the garlic festival. I never hit it right when I visited her to go. I LOVE garlic!

Hi all,
so here's what I got back about the garlic. I wasn't sure why we were going to do it. since we didn't need it, didn't ask anymore questions:

"NO the onion is not for swollen vents. Yes, if the yolk is exposed and breaks it's over. The onion helps keep bacteria away so that they can absorb, it doesn't really help with absorbing. Once the yolk gets bacteria they usually can't absorbed and end up dying, well your trying to prevent that from happening, so you need something to keep bacteria off. the onion seems to help with fighting bacteria. Onion is very dangerous and poisonous for ducks so they are NOT allowed to eat it. You only want to use it a protective guard, sort of speaking. Keep the bad stuff away so that they can continue with the good stuff. Once the yolk is exposed they are in great danger."
