Ok...I took the plunge and came home with 4 Cornish crosses from the feed store. They are most definitley fat and lazy. I have them in the brooder for now and will move them out in a bout a week after I get something set up for them. Any guesses on age?

so sorry for the deaths among your flocks all who experienced/are experiencing them.

Funny story about the hen under the bucket

Mario's post of chiqitas ducks is darling

My new coop is to go into what was to be Curly's pen but for now is simply going to be a non designated isolation/broody/brooder for the 3+ week old crowd/ whatever pen.

Glad ppl like the photo of Jamie Lee. I love my Dorking girls and the way they waddle/run to me. They do like to fly. Going to try moving them to the big pen I want to see if they are still able to fly out. I need to move girls out of the General's pen in preparation for my New Hampshires that I hope to be getting in the next few weeks from @debs_flock . If they fly out I will have to clip a wing until we get that darn pen covered.
