im sure there are wild birds above the run. Or you never got them out of the coop. Either way..There havent been wild birds in their coop though
Thanks! If you are on the hatchalong thread you may have already seen these but this is what Tom and I spent yesterday afternoon doing. We still have the Eastern and Southern walls to do but doesn't this look like the sort of place you might like to raise a family??
Ol flowerpot Norma has been sitting in the nest box for hours on end but then getting bored mid afternoon and joining the flock. She also has plucked some breast feathers so with any luck she will soon decide that the only thing that will make her happy is to become a mama...then I hope the fever will spread through the coops.![]()

Very Nice!
Ok, i need help with shade tarps.
I'm looking for something that will give nice shade, but be breathable.
i've seen some online but not sure if they'll make the area hotter than it is already.
Anyone use any shade cloths or shade tarps?

Thanks! I have never had meat birds before so didn't know if they "age" the same. Have to make sure I stay unattached from them. I will be reviewing processing videos and info....![]()
Since I'm hatching with a still air LG I was rearranging eggs last night, Gave a few a quick shot with my flashlight candler, so nice to see veins starting. Started up the turner also. Grow babies grow!!
I do. Bought the green shade cloth at Home Depot and my husband cut it into panels and attached it to metal rods so it hangs nice and I can roll it up or down easily. It breaths but keeps the rain from blowing into my pens. I then used foundation stakes to hold it out from the sides of the pens for airflow.Ok, i need help with shade tarps.
