So I give 30ml in 1 gallon for two days in a row?
That sounds correct.
They will be better soon too.

I found a marans site that said Calcium and K2 helped keep the egg shells dark.
There must be K2 in the Black Oil Sun flower Seeds.
It has helped with the Penedesenca eggs.
Yeah... what fun........Wait a minute ,,, I haven't even heard from Walt yet to see if I can buy them......LOLKaren and Jules, my chickenitis is still acting up - maybe a road trip to Sonoma would take care of it!
Walt - do you have any bantam leghorn pullet or hen culls?
I have a bunch of Jules' eggs in the bator right now - blue wheaten AMs, Sumatras, lavendar orps, seramas, and MF d'uccles. Candled a few last night and there are definitely some tadpoles forming!
Karen, how do you like your new brinsea?
Well hello there busted...Welcome to this BYC thread....... Where have you been hiding?????Geographically speaking there is more than the north central south. There is coastal, desert, high desert, central valley, high sierras and temperate forest. it's rather diverse for its size. but if you want to be simple and split it into 2 there is the redwood curtain and everything else!
I wondered if you were still suffering from it. Our fun roadtrip and lovely visit with Kim would have helped. We will just need to plan our next trip north on a day when we can kidnap you!![]()
The new Ova scope from Brinsea is great. I even tried it on my darkest Marans eggs & it was good..... I am feeling sooooooooooo spoiled and self indulged.. I must say Thank You to AT&T for that unexpected dividend check. I probably wouldn't of talked myself into the new incubator & candler if it had not come. I told Raymond that incubator & humidity module cost 1/2 what the cabinet Brinsea I bought was when I bought it & the new one only holds 24 eggs............I hope it does really well.........I knew you'd be wishing you'd played hookyAt least we know the cure, so anytime you're afflicted.....![]()
I'm glad we veered off & started yacking about eBay, that'll be fun. Btw, the little trio has settled in nicely. He's a vocal little dude compared to my older boy. Hubby gets a kick out of the bantam boys competing with the big guys.
Glad to hear you have tadpoles starting to swim. Karen got her new Ovascope, I'm looking forward to looking through it to see what I'm missing with my little LED flashlight![]()

Talk about contrast!I think mine is only 5...but all the ones from the same clutch only count as one....right???![]()
Sounds good to me. Yay for chicken math!!!
Oooooooooh East Indie ducks.
I might have to arm-rassle you for those east indies...

Thank youOh, one more thing, how long do I need to throw away eggs for? Do they have to be thrown away, or can they be fed to the dog(or scrambled and fed to the hens)?
What???? Are you sure, because if your wrong then that would be defamationHm. I just discovered that chickens are afraid of banana slugs. Who knew? I thought they'd eat anything.
White Leghorn Bantams? Those sound divine! Are they flighty like the LF?For those that asked what I will be selling: 1pr Brown Chinese geese, White Runner ducks, pairs and trio's of LF New Hampshires,..no single females. One Wheaten Ko Shamo bantam pair (very rare and will be APA recognized in April), White Leghorn Bantams and possibly a pair of East Indie ducks.
I'm not placing an ad for a week or so and I hardly ever sell birds. PM me if you have any interest before the ad goes out.
Walt
I have their high intensity candlers, but not the outside fitting. I find it works well when the batteries are brand new. Had a hard time seeing my marans eggs today and the batteries aren't that used either. Even the 7 day old marans were very difficult. And a set of my brand new batteries leaked in it. not sure what happened there. The new Ova scope from Brinsea is great. I even tried it on my darkest Marans eggs & it was good..... The chick on the left has naked feet, and the chick on the right has feathered legs. I guess it's a wait and see what they turn into. The chick on the left looks a bit like a cuckoo marans chick. the one on the right, no.
Both of them should be a bit brownish.
Some Blue Marans are made from cuckoo.
Do they have feathers on their feet?
I always appreciate your advice. That's a great idea. So make a growth curve for all of them, and make sure they are growing at the same rate. Thanks!! Now I just need to get a scale that weighs little things....Cute chicks!
I know you didn't ask me, and I hope no one minds me answering, but I would do it mathematically... I'd weigh all of the chicks every few days and calculate the *percentage* of weight gain for each one. If it's just small it would gain the roughly the same percentage of weigh as the others.![]()
