Had a lovely visit and super tasty lunch with Karen today. The hubby was happy to finally (after 3+ years) meet my favorite chicken-loving friend/mentor/enabler & get to see her beautiful birds. He said he now understands why I head up there every chance I get - a kindred spirit and great cook who feeds me well

Of course he noted that I also came home with 4 darling Buff Orp chicks & numerous eggs to fill my 2nd incubator! Thank you for feeding us AND my chicken addiction

I know a few people that think the white eggs are OK but would never egg brown eggs knowing what else comes out of the bird. My favorite is that blue, green and pink eggs are more nutritious.

That is probably true in a all mothers are women (but not all women are mothers ) kind of way. Most hens that lay colored eggs Lay more nutritious eggs because they live in back yards and eat bugs. Most hens who lay white eggs do not.

Now that im lying to you with statistics have this egg!

How wonderful!

Quote: I have a friend that won't eat my eggs. She says they come out of a chickens butt. And where exactly does she think the grocery store eggs come from? The egg fairy?

The poo comes down one channel and the egg comes down another. There is a Sphincter that closes off the poo channel when the egg comes down.

There is not poo contamination on the eggs. Now a dirty nest box is another thing altogether.....

Technically, the egg does not come out of the Butt.

That is what same hole different channel references.
I love brown eggs!
I love any egg from a real pasture raised or backyard chicken!

I love it! The egg fairy! I'm going to use that on my husband's best friend. He'll only eat white eggs. Thinks any other color is from a defective bird. When he comes to visit I have to raid my Andalusian pen and put their white eggs in a local store carton. He always has seconds at breakfast. I just smile and keep dishing them up

I may have to get some eggs from Karen too lol I love buff orps :)

Another person from work recently started getting eating eggs from by. She said that she made scrambled eggs and normally put catchup on them but forgot. She said those egg were very good without anything on them!

Of course they are!

One of my clients' sushi chef boyfriend buys my Ko Shamo eggs for $ 4.00 each when I have some to spare, to make Ko Shamo Egg Sushi. The tiny Ko Shamos are very prolific egg layers, and they are respectfully large for their size. Their eggs are held on a high esteem by the Japanese. I am a vegetarian; eggs (infertile) have always been my, and many vegetarian friends' main source of protein.
