Ok, so far out of 37 eggs, I've had 31 hatch. Originally I think there were 5 clears.

I got lots of Blue Coppers, Some splashes and a couple of black copper marans

And OE- some black and some Blues!! I love the Blues!! They have little muffs like the AM's

Their mom was a lavender AM, but with this cross I'm getting Blacks and Blue OE.

It's neat that I asked either here or another forum what I'd get with that cross, and whoever said it was right.
I like how all those genetics work

Yeah. But then you are keeping them low on a vitamin permently. Im just not sure on that.

I am beginning to think that chicken have more to say than peafowl people do! And, guinea people have even less!

Oh, no!  I like big birds, I like big birds, I like big birds!  I do NOT need bantams, I do NOT need bantams, I do NOT need bantams.  I better go play with a few chicks until the want passes!

You better be careful or you'll be turned like Karen @sewandgrow has been. Big Birds has always been her mantra & sneaky Dyann @chooklet has her hatching Japanese bantams!! I'm working on getting her into Seramas next!

Oh, I don't USE medicated feed.  It just finally sunk in what the feed was medicated with!

I had a longtime breeder tell me to start all my birds on NONmedicated gamebird starter. It seems I've had a lot less problems with both Cocci & pasty butt since I switched over. The babies seem to be stronger. I also put little scoops of soil in the brooders so they have our dirt from the beginning.

what do you mean "it finally sunk in what it's medicated with" ?
I dont recall, but isn't it amprolium in the feed?
Or is it something more harsh?

and as a p.s., i just lifted up the EcoGlow to see how the kids underneath are doing, and they're all standing and wiggling and looking happy, including the little black one that got chilled (well, there are three blacks, and i'm not sure which is which, but they all looked good).

hurrah, i can finally get myself to campus this morning! running late...
