If my feed store carried varieties like that, I would not be able to go there. It's tempting enough with the very limited common varieties they do have.Ok so I didn't get easter eggers from the feedstore....but got 5 D'uccles..
Not yet. Jason keeps hatching special eggs for other projects.
It does look like it might help with shipping. We were going to try one day of incubation but the article said 6 hours helped for storage.
Thanks for the article!
thanks !LOL. This is like they said don't say whats in the box to davis.. " lab samples"
also @ronott1 Here is a small article on pre incubation i found in quail. did you guys ever do your experiment?

nice. I may have to buy one for my office
What do you mean set in cartons the entire time? you mean no turning for the whole incubation?Air cells like that are in shipped eggs--often the survivors of poor packing. There are usually broken eggs in the package too. they show up after the first week.
Eggs like that have to be set in cartons for the entire time. I have been able to hatch eggs like that but it is hard because the embryo was damaged from the shipping too.
Oh I know I've got 14 that are grown. These are their offspring. They started laying in February instead of April. Now they have quit. They were only 7 months when they started laying.I worked for a County too, but I was the Payroll Manager, so it was my office and everyone else in the room worked for me, lol. Tossed out finch chicks are the worst. My gouldians were terrible parents. Those three will make enough noise for a whole flock of chickens. I'm sorry the rest didn't make it though.
