Good luck..............I hope they all lay beautiful eggs for you. Does the picture capture the true color of the egg? Did you get to actually see it? Wow , beautiful.

LOL The picture is of his darkest pink egg, Chris ,the local man whom I got the chicks from, said this and that he was on his 3thd generation of the "Pink Egg Project". He was nice enough and with my enthusiasm, I went against my better judgement and bought 4 chicks. I was not shown the project birds or any eggs. The breeds that was mentioned in the project was Brahmas and RIR. He even wish me luck on getting a pink egg layer. Who knows, I just might luck out! Keep you all posted! I am still excited though!

One of the feed stores close to me has them (in Orangevale). @alibra I just pick up a Mille Fleur d’Uccle at the feed store this weekend (I couldn't help it).

My hen with ascites that I've been tending to for a year just died.

How disheartening! Its very sad when something dies that you have worked so hard to save!

My favorite hen has learned how to get over the 6ft fence of their yard. She jumps on top of the nest box then onto the fence and flies down. I had to cut the naughty thing's wing so she can't get out any more.

I always say chickens are naughty!

Yes it's just BBS with the mottling gene. I'm hatching a few eggs to see of my splash rooster is split for mottled.

Let us know how that goes! Hopefully that mottling gene comes through

If it does, I'm more than happy to drive up there and buy eggs or chicks if you decide to sell some.

Ok how bad is it to feed MUSCOVY ducks rice crackers? They love them I ran out and picard started to grab the thing next to me and thump in protest!
