This is what I want: (Color not important. Fluffy bowling ball shape desired!)

I have a fluff ball! She's only a pet though, and not at all show quality. But I still love her!

Apparently I don't have any recent pictures of her, but here is one when she was young, looking like a ball of feathers:

Violet, frizzle cochin bantam.

I just remembered something funny...
my half sister told me that her dad names his chickens after people he likes... Margaret and Emily are two off the top of my head, they're his coworkers. I wonder if he tells these people he names his chickens after lol

Sorry Kim no basketballs this way. I get lots of BLRW broodies but nothing cute like the picture. Some of them are inconsistence moms and leave the chicks earlier than I like.

I appreciate the replies.

I checked out that page, but hers don't look like what I want.

I think Sarah Cromwell @mycutekitties daughter shows these & does well with them. She has Polish but I think they have these too. She is near me in Salida just outside Modesto. Her family will be at the party.

Not sure what you can do some say hand feed to make him rely on you others say be like the lead dog not to let him back you down. I know my Dark Cornish rooster really doesn't like the rubber boots I have the boots have have a red toe and a red ring at the top and he goes after the top of my boots and it is amazing how much power he can muster jumping up and throwing his feet out at me. My wife says he does it to her he will be soup. Good luck, Tod.

I soooooooooooo hate aggressive animals & a rooster is no exception. My unwritten rule of thumb is if you attack you're dead, but today my son was here & out collecting eggs & the Brown Leghorn nailed him as he bent down to get the eggs. He got him right in the face. Boy was he P.Od.....The bad part of it is that is the rooster he asked me to keep for his breeding project. He is trying to develop a Phoenix/Yokohama cross for the longtails but with the upright tail carriage of the Leghorn. He has beautiful Phoenix/Yokohama crosses but wants to raise the tails. He is stuck with that rooster since he is the only Leghorn I have. That same rooster never bothers me when I enter the pen but will hit the chain link when I am gathering eggs in the adjacent pen. He would have already been gone if Aaron hadn't asked me to keep him for his project.

No new chicken pictures yet--the pen isn't quite done, so the girls are still in the garage in an old playpen with plywood on top. I did get a gift while I was working, though...

In real life, it's a light sage.

Oh, and I just learned that the smaller pullet is a young'n--Tom says it was estimated that she'd be laying in about a month (in which case, I think it's one of the ones Urbanviewfarms said hatched at Christmas). Is it O for her to have layer feed? I usually have all flock, just 'cause, but I bought layer feed yesterday.

Quote:Congratulations! Wonderful, fabulous news!! I am very happy about it, and now will be able to show my Ko Shamo : ) Thank you to you, Suzanne, and all the others for the hard work!
