I'm fascinated by all the talk of cross breeds. Since Delawares are the result of a cross. I was wondering about trying to produce my own lines should I ever get the space to try something like that. Yes I have chicken fever now

The Delawares I am hatching for @capayvalleychick are re created bye kathyinmo. They are amazing!

I'm trying to understand the chicken calculator its kind of confusing. Maybe I need to sit with someone.
Probably don't know the base colors etc for some breeds.

Dorkings /Delawares and Silver Laced Wyandotes all look very similar to me (SLW not so much but the color pallet is the same) Just wondering what crossing such would end up looking like.

Also wondering what the reverse (NH Roo and Rock hen) cross for delawares results in.

Well poop.I think my free ranging bresse pullet looks to have cocci. I realized the symptoms right AFTER I gave her nutridrench.

I cursed a bit and made a strong dose of s stuff. I'm hoping I'm not too late. I saw a bloody poo yesterday but thought it was lining.

I put her under a heat lamp in q. Hopefully I can save her

I may be missing out on a lot of fun by not cross breeding. Maybe I need a couple of CL hens to play with. ........Quick someone write this down................I will never remember it all...........LOL   Leaving now to go write it down.....LOL

That sounds like a very good project
