Ok another question. How easy is it to override its temp settings and set it with my spot checks?

I served rabbit once at a rabbit club potluck. It was a local rabbit show club, mostly all adults. One woman was vehement in her stance of not eating rabbit. I had taken the rabbits and ground them, then made lasagna.

She asked if she could take the leftover lasagna home. I said sure and sent it with her.

I never told any of them the meat in the dish was rabbit..................I'm bad

I recently got some rabbits for meat. My kids love rabbit meat and I was buying it for $30 a dressed rabbit plus I needed to drive 30 miles to buy it. I finally decided it was time to raise my own. Fortunately, there is an FDA rabbit processing facility in Santa Rosa so I will not have to process the rabbits myself. I am not sure I could do it.

I have processed chickens a few times and the more I do it the less I like it. I wish there was a place to take the chickens as I would happily pay the $5 to have them come back dressed.

The Eco has a red POT under the cover. That would be easy. I need to take the top off of mine and see if it has one too.

So far, mine is in perfect shape. I do not hatch in it though.

That remind me. I cared for my nieces for a year while my brother got his s--t together. Being a single mother raising two kids of my own and 2 extras I was very thrifty. My butcher always bought me the liver, heads (dog Food) heart and tongues if the owners didn't want it.
My kids had aquired taste for these things.
I'd prepare the tongues while they were at school, cleaning it , a slicing it into sandwich type slices an serving with gravy and mashed potatoes. Called it roast beef. The girls loved it just like the rabbit.
they request sliced beef and mashed potatoes one morning until they saw me cooking the tongue. They sad we're not eating that!!!!! I told them they already had and loved it. LOL They watch me prepare it and ate it gladly.
To this day the girls now say how I tricked them into being good eaters.

I'm excited for you both!!!! I have an abundance of boys from those two hatches because I tried to pick out girls for people. I need to pull the boys that are 8 weeks and older to take to the farm. Since it is raining, I have a reprieve from that chore. I do have a few little scratchy cockerel crows coming from two of the pens. They don't do it when Zorro is out there, though. They are smart little boys! He is way bigger than they are!

They are all "about " the same. Close enough that I have to handle to see any difference . The white is apparently a girl also. And trinkets baby is the same size as the girls too -fingers crossed for a girl. I was wondering if the boy was going to give himself a heart attack growing like that!

We had to change leg bands way sooner than I expected:-0 looks like they will be taking over my fatty patty coop. It's the most spacious .lol

Yeah for Trinket's baby!!!! Trinket is a CL mix and has barring so I'm assuming that, with Zorro as the daddy, any boys that hatch from her eggs would develop barring. Trinket is broody right now and sitting on 7 (I think) PP/CL mix eggs. She is a fiesty little broody and does not leave the nest even when another hen wants to lay an egg in there. The cohabit the nest and Trinket just takes the egg for her own when the other girl leaves. I'm sure glad that I marked all of her eggs with colored markers!
