I just had a egg put in about 130 pm on the 23d hatch. Almost 7 days early....

I think someone needs to fire their egg collector!

How is that possible? (Shaking head) I understand what happened but I'm so paranoid about eggs getting cold that simply astounds me!

Breeding questions (since Im up late and working and waiting on computer stuff to do its thing)

What ages do you want a breeding Trio (or quintet) to be if you were to start?
If you are going to cross breeds is it better to raise the hens and roo together from chicks?

Is there a good resource for a chicken novice to grasp the breeding characteristics one looks for?

They are my favorite egg to eat!

I poked air holes in the duck eggs only to see they were all shrink wrapped. I opened them up and wet them all. I will see how they look in the morning..../ nervous.

Because sometimes mistakes are funny. I read somewhere that food die could be used to mark chicks. I had one chick that was acting funny. It was hard to spot because that group of chicks all looked alike. I thought I'd get smart and use food color. All I had was the food gel used in fondant. Then the chicks all slept in a pile and I got this.
