Thanks, I will do that! I'm ordering from a seller on eBay who's sold over 200 of them and has 99.9% positive feedback, so I'm sure if there IS a problem it will be fixed quickly. It's brand new so there shouldn't be an issue, but I know that even new items can sometimes be defective.

Thanks :)

I hope you do better then I did as I was to have a incubator from a private seller last Monday with 150+ sales and guess what as of Wednesday no return e-mail's and no incubator and I have had items late before and I go with the flow of life but not returning an e-mail well that just get's me as it was a bit of money as I do not make it a habit to buy big ticket items on e-bay now an oil-filter or a door knob that is different .....

But good luck with you incubator ...

My seller has a feedback score of over 20,000 and it's at 99.9% positive so I'm not too worried. :)

But I'm sorry that happened to you! eBay offers a money-back guarantee so you should be able to get your money back. If it's been three days since you contacted the seller then get in contact with eBay and they will refund your money. Here's more information on it;

I know this chickens are the best chicken for Siberia as the handle the cold very well but they also live in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq but I have only seen them in Ukraine out side of the U.S. and their chickens were much bigger and stockier then the ones here but defiantly the same chicken breed and it only get's up to 129 F Degrees here in the summer for four weeks at the end of July and first part of August and that is outside in the shade but they handle it as I just sold my 6 and 7 year old stock and I never lost one when it was hot but they are some different kind of chickens as I catch them sitting in the ducks water buckets or standing in them if they catch me looking at them .....

I don't know what type of temp's you get but they are still walking around when my EE, RIR chickens are digging in the wet sand under the water faucet gasping for air and relief ......
Lol, I guess if they can live in Death Valley they can probably live anywhere. Do you have any Faverolles or Cochins? I'm gonna guess that they might not do as well...

Well Kathy living in Gilroy it gets really hot too I know but as with here you have ways to adjust the clement for your poultry as I am sure you do but to answer your question no and I was told many years ago when I first came up here that Silkies need to live in the basement in the summer months or they wont make it ......

I agree. To say I'm excited would be an understatement.
great to hear. you may want to start with something besides store eggs since its a crap shoot if they are fresh enough to set or you find them. if you do look at the Julian date on the carton .
id suggest getting something from a local that you know has fresh eggs that where not refrigerated

I do believe next time I am going to look for something or someone like that to purchase from even if it is a bit more as I had to boil up 40+ egg's this morning that I had collected from my yard it still hurts .....

I'll have to see what I can find. :) There's some people on CL with hatching eggs, maybe I can afford to buy some of those. I just don't have much money ATM, spent it all on the incubator hehe

Wow, I bet. I would definitely contact eBay and ask for a refund, that's not right of the seller to do that to you & you're covered under eBay's money back guarantee.

The guy at the feedstore gives my number to people looking for hatching eggs and I'l usually just give them away if I have time to go look for them. Most of my eggs are from mutt chickens, so I wouldn't feel right selling them, lol. So maybe ask people at the feedstore if they know of anyone?

Yep. I just called and she probably won't have quite a dozen by the time I get my bator but that's okay, I can start with a small hatch. I might do both TJ's eggs AND the SPR's and compare hatch rates, just for fun. I read a thread where someone got a 100% hatch rate from the TJ's eggs! Crazy!
