Wouldn't a soft shelled egg be laid in the nest box, though? And wouldn't it have a yolk?
Is this a new laying pullet? They do weird eggs at first. They also do not lay soft shelled eggs in the nest box sometimes.

She should be fine, but make sure they are getting enough calcium.

That looks like a soft shelled egg without a yolk. Not sure why, but softies are often laid from the perch at night.

Interesting! I guess there's a first time for everything - I've never had an abnormal egg before, with the exception of one double yolker(that thing was huge, and both the yolks were pale). Thanks!

Nope, no new pullets. All my hens are over a year old now. They've all had normal eggs with the exception of one double yolker laid by a speckled sussex, even in the beginning there were no funky eggs.
Glad it's nothing to worry about, thank you.

UofA hatch update:
Total of 9 out of their shells; 2 black, 3 splash, 4 blues
2 of 3 eggs left are pipped externally

Oh boy, are they cute
Nice! They are very cute and healthy. You should post on the new Arkansas Blues thread(The UofA thread was closed...Quite sad). I have been asked if they were sickly and hatched poorly. I posted that my experience had not been like that!

I predict some nice blue eggs in your future. They start laying a lot earlier than many breeds.

Soft shell "wind" egg.
(Fascinating what a simple chicken question can lead you into reading about) Rooster eggs

Oh, I bet that one finished molting then. They do have odd eggs sometimes after a molt. the first molt is often mild with a slow down in egg laying and some feathers will be in the yard. Later molts are harder.

If she did finish a molt, then her eggs should get bigger too.

Could that be your polish?

Hmm, I have not noticed any of them molting. Haven't even seen any feathers in the yard, and they're all still missing half of the feathers on their backs for some reason. So I"m not sure if it could have been a molt?

Nope! She doesn't go in the coop at night, she prefers to sleep on the ground

In fact, the only time she goes in the coop is when I physically put her in there so she can eat and drink. So it couldn't have been her since the weird looking thing was found first thing in the morning yesterday, before she went in the coop.
