Thanks.
There is no spare bedroom, no spare bathroom, nothing. I live in a tiny guest house. And I can't have chickens in my bathroom, we have company that is going to be here for a few days. I'm going to look into keeping them in the garage, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I now have only two that are not showing any symptoms, a Speckled Sussex and the Tolbunt Polish. It is spreading and getting worse very quickly. I will put them in the garage tomorrow if I can get some type of fencing set up to confine them. I should be able to.

So if I treat it, and they all recover, how will I know if it is MG or not? I need to know if I can still incubate, bring new birds into the flock, etc.
One way to tell would be if the keep getting it!

You have a plan now. That should make you fell better!

Can you contact @Papa Brooder to see if he has oxine or an anti biotic you can borrow?

I have hatched for him in the past so he can pay that forward to you....

Thanks.

I'm sure company will understand that you have pets you are trying to save the lives of. Two without symptoms may already be infected, but I am at a loss for the cavalier attitude toward trying to prevent it if they are not.

@BCollie really sorry to hear about your birds. I agree with SpringPeeper do WHATEVER you can to separate your healthy birds from the sick, even if it means bringing your 2 healthy ones into your bathroom overnight untill you can figure something out. Hopefully it'll be something mild and they'll all recover quickly.

Thanks. I'm going to try to separate them tomorrow. Can't bring them into the house as we have company, but I will put them in the garage. I just need my parents to pay for the fencing for it...as buying the antibiotics is going to take ALL my money.

I am wondering if a blood test can be run on the birds to see if they have MG?
I'll contact Jeff and see if he has oxine. Would I put that in a humidifier in the coop?

I was told denagard can cure the carrier state if used in a preventative program. Treating every few weeks. But, I had problems with fungal and digestive issues when I used it like that. Back then, I was paranoid that every wild bird would give mycoplasma to my chickens, LOL.

it could also be the hole flock was not infected but I am no expert on that

Well, back then I was worried about everything that could make my birds sick. I thought I had to vaccinate for everything and use a denagard prevention program to keep them from getting dreaded diseases. But, after several rounds of " preventative treatments" I ended up with birds with sour crop, aspergillosis in one bird and hens with vent gleet. Too much antibiotics killing off good bacteria and it wasn't worth it to use as a preventative in heathy birds. The lady I was talking about had very rare birds and was going through desperate measures to cure them. She claimed the birds were cured with denagard. She said she sent birds and eggs out to be tested through out the whole process.

I think there are tests for mg using eggs, but that won't work in this case. I remember a lab that you could send somewhere around 2 dozen (fertile I think?) eggs to and they test eggs. Not sure how that worked or how expensive.

I have heard that too. @capayvalleychick posted about going through a similar process but did it by culling for resistance over time.

aspergillosis is nasty! I had one die of it--a fungus plug- that cut off the air way. Quite sad.

Who ever said that I am not trying to prevent it from spreading? I already said that tomorrow I will be putting them in the garage.
Good!

What you will have to do is watch for symptoms in the others and move them as soon as you see them.

To answer the oxine question, the solution is mixed up without the activator and put into a cool mist humidifier. aim the mist at the chickens for something like 20 min. twice a day.

Those are general instructions--look up the details.

That would be complicated as it is only in the egg on occation. But I do think denegard is pretty amazing and nothing is yet mutating to resist. That is the main reason no one cares about mycro overseas.
