Perfect, thanks. Just sent him a PM.

Tractor Supply has the injectable Tylan for swine and cattle, this will also work for my hens if I can't find the stuff to put in their drinking water, right?
chiqita says it is better since you will be sure of the dosage for each one.

Have her send instructions to you via pm.

Yes. Its better and cheaper. Make sure to get needles inject either intramuscular or subq if your afraid of im. Don't squirt it down the throat the vets said bad things about that. Do it for 5-7 days different site each time as it hurts. Don't worry if they limp a little if you inject in the leg.

So if this is MG, and all my birds recover fine, how long until it shows up again?
Also, should I treat the entire flock since they've all been exposed?

Will do. If I'm treating everyone starting tomorrow, should I still separate the ones that aren't showing symptoms?

Quote: I haven't seen those. I tried the screw-in nipples from Ebay and could not get them in right to keep them from leaking. I did find some of the push in ones and hope they work better.

Quote: Thank you...and yes...they are adorable. @Chiquita .....Do you see any of the "special" omes in there?

Quote: Thank you...I do too!

Hi, I just joined and live in NorCal. I read thru the debate about where the line is and want to add my thoughts. You are NorCal if you use 'hella' as an adjective (as in "That is a hella cool coop you built") and SoCal if that use makes you want to hurl.
I guess it dependd on your age. My kids ide that term but it make me want to hurl

I found the Tylan Soluble powder on eBay from someone with 100% positive feedback for $48 including shipping. It won't be here until June 4th, is that too long to wait?

I need an antibiotic that's approved for poultry because I do sell my eggs sometimes.
Wow...the powder is pricey....I used the injectable

I knew about needing to quarantine but had no way to, and I don't think this is caused by the new hen. I was not worried about her bringing in diseases as I knew where she was coming from. She exhibits zero symptoms. The first one to show symptoms was my Andalusian.
I will go to the store right now and get them some yogurt. I'll also put some electrolytes and probiotics in their water. I'll make sure to keep them away from the dogs so that they aren't stressed at all.
There's no way I can get the other dogs out. I really wish I could, but they are foster dogs for a rescue and have no other place to go.

What do I treat them with if I can't find Tylan at a local feed store tomorrow?

I have no way to! I wish I did, but there is absolutely nothing I can do to get them away from the healthy ones. The only way I can separate them is just with some chicken wire but even then they are still able to have direct contact with the sick ones because they'll be in the same yard. I have foster dogs that will hurt them if they are kept in the other yard. There's no way I can separate them, I don't even have a spare bathroom in the house to keep them in.
What about some shade cloth wrapped around tree stakes or even trees? Or bedsheets if you don't have shade cloth

Quote:
Nope. No dog crates, no play pens, nothing. My extra dog crate is being used right now since I have an extra foster dog.
