That Dawg is a smart one, lol. If someone is allergic to erythromycin they should be careful. I think it's like tylosin (Tylan).

I actually AM allergic to erythromycin -- and beyond that, i'd be careful about ingesting any more antibiotics than you actually need -- the world is far too awash in them already, and the more they get eaten improperly, the higher the chance of building up resistant strains. so i'd avoid eating any eggs from a chicken on antibiotics, myself.

Thanks guys :) I'll wait 10 days. Just gave the chickens their daily shots, and will be doing it again tomorrow evening(that's the soonest anyone is home to hold the hens for me). My stepdad talked to the chickens for the first time ever today, "What's the funny sound you're making?" when the hen was talking to him lol

Feed the eggs back to the chickens.

How are they doing today?

I noticed one still has wet sneezes, but she's sneezing less. Haven't heard the others sneeze. Splash is still doing okay, so I have no doubts that she'll make it until tomorrow for her blood draw, then I can start treating her. She doesn't seem to be deteriorating at all, her condition seems to be stable.

Today is day 11(wow, already?!) for the eggs in my incubator. I know that I can't touch them for the next few days as the embryo is turning in the shell. But the two that I think are blood rings are still not showing any signs of development. Is it safe to toss them now, or should I still leave them in the bator? And at what day can I toss clear eggs? Many of my Trader Joe's eggs look exactly the same as they did on day 1, totally empty inside.

If they look like blood rings, crack them open and see what is in there for sure.

Look for an embryio and try to figure out when it quit.

Peachick Scale Training
Peachicks 3, 4 and 5. Hatched in 27 days on 5-29. For those that weigh eggs, these eggs lost 16-18% in in 26 days.
