You are doing it correctly.I've been incubating the eggs from my birds big end up then hatching them on their sides. I'll keep these big end up and hatch in egg cartons.![]()

Shipped eggs need to be big end up to give them a better chance of pipping into the air cell.

The deep yellow in the back has me scratching my head. I thought the only brown eggs I had under her were Dels but that baby is a yellow chipmunk?? It may be one of Godiva's but I wouldn't have expected her chicks to be yellow when she is brown and dad is Red but it is definitely not belonging to one of the Australorps or a Del or Norma or my Speckled Sussex.
