Dominiques. Very aggressive foragers. After letting them out every day for a couple of weeks, we went from having a serious snail problem to not being able to find a single snail, even in the flower pots we turned over to attract them. They will stalk and track hummingbirds, hoping for not quite fast enough food. Fortunately, the hummers ignore them.

Very nice!

Where did you get them?

There are a lot less slugs here too.

Anyone have any advice for an impacted crop in a 2 week old chick? I noticed it last night, I pulled the food and was hoping just water would help flush it out but it's not any better.

Look down the throat and see if there is something to get out. If the Crop does not empty over night, then try monistat 7. Break the suppository into pieces and get the chick to eat one piece twice a day. If that does not work, you may need to follow the instructions to empty the crop.

plain yogurt and chick grit after the crop is empty to get digestion working again.

I used:

With a crop bound cockerel last year. It worked too.

Do you know how to tube feed? If so, you could tube water, that will usually work.

I'll check my feed store for something similar; or get Monistat. Thanx!

I don't; been trying to google it but I can't find a decent picture of the mouth area and I don' t want to drown the little guy.

Now to figure out how to get his beak open...

some were posted here recently. The tube goes into the mouth and down the left side of the tongue.

You may need help.

The tube actually goes down the right side of their mouth.

To tube safely you will need to get the right sized tube from a vet or medical supply store, probably a size 10 french. Then you will need to modify it. I'll take a picture of mine and post it in the next hour.
