California - Northern

Gives me an ache in me heart hearing the names of theses places of incomparable beauty going up in flames. The fact that they're in the path to my home throws the angora fire back in my face . Terrifying. Praying for all close to these fires. The smoke has filled north shore but we have not begun choking on the smoke here on the south shore yet...

It's horrific for sure. It makes me want to cry when I see pictures of the devastation.

East Bay here!! Love my girls and have to say they're pretty spoiled. They come when they're called (especially if I have a red bag of 'wormies"!! The reds love to jump in my lap. They live a pretty spoiled life but that's OK.....they're my girls!!
Welcome how far into the east bay are you.

My kindergartener wanted to take a picture of Frieda setting for show and tell tomorrow, and I thought you might like it, too.

The fires are breaking my heart too. I am hoping they get under control soon. I grew up in the sierra nevadas and have not showed mario all the areas I remember.

I just keep remembering everthing rhat burns down griws again.

We are all young enough to see the rebirth of these areas with flowers trees and ferns. Grass medows transformed back into tremendous forests.

Josh maybe we can do a tree planting in the spring?

I could be there with bells on...

Right now I am very, very angry. It seems that the fire in the Sierra was a result of deliberate arson.

I can't even imagine why someone would do such a cruel and vicious thing.

If you want to do a tree planting in spring, I'll try to be there, too.

I have one Polish, an Americana, 1 Auracuana, a Buff Orphington and two reds. My Austrulop (?) just passed away and I don't know why. She was fine one day then quit eating. She has no sores or injuries, no sign of illness or disease. She was three. Made me sad. I'm sitting outside with them every morning so they can roam the yard for goodies before I go to work.

UCD has a free necropsy service for small flocks. You can send them in using their fedex account which provides a nice shipping discount.

information is at: cahfs.ucdavis.edu
