I think she got into some nitrogen fertilizer as the shed door was open and there were a couple chicken poos in there.
I'm very thankful for her quick recovery and that I had learned so much first aid stuff here so I had a plan. My parents were skeptical that I needed to bring her inside, but were mollified when I explained it was for isolation and observation. They are of the generation that remembers the family farm and chicken flocks that got no coddling. But they were both happy that Penny, the fierce one, is all better.
It was a great comfort to post and get further instructions, like an egg problem can be felt from the outside (ronott1). So thank you all for being here and sharing and caring!!
I learned that it is big business to ship roosters to the Philippines even though the cost of shipping is over $100.I know this gets asked over and over but how much do you sell a cull cockerel for? Seems every time I go to the swap, as I'm pulling in someone says how much , then I'll take it.
I keep bringing up the price but they still sell quick.
If it is for the Sport we cannot name, then they do not want our wimpy little roosters. There are certain breeds that could get that kind of cash though.I learned that it is big business to ship roosters to the Philippines even though the cost of shipping is over $100.
I have become very careful with rehoming roosters; I'd rather know that someone is genuinely feeding their family than reselling for some other reason.
